Creative Translation for Juniors (CSC157)
CoursesAbout Creative Translation for Juniors (CSC157)
Join us for a new creative writing workshop exploring the fascinating world of translation.
What will you learn on this course?
Find out how books travel the world through translation!
Syrian author Nadine Kaadan’s award-winning Arabic picture book Answer Me, Leila is a retelling of Rapunzel - with a twist. Decode the Arabic to discover the twist, have a go writing some Arabic and watch the book come to life in English!
This is not a writing workshop or an art workshop. It’s both!
No knowledge of Arabic is required.
This workshop will be led by Anam Zafar, a multi-award-winning translator from Arabic and French to English. Her work has won several awards including a PEN Translates award and a longlisting for the Warwick Prize for Women in Translation.
