
About Creative Video (DM03 Autumn)
Unleash your creativity with this 12-week experimental video art course. Perfect for new or existing creatives looking to learn new skills or add more artistic elements to their productions!
What will you learn on this course?
Taught by an experienced multidisciplinary artist, you will be guided through tutor-led demos and set tasks which will introduce particular tips and techniques. The course will cover:
- How to make video art and creative content
- Filming and Live Video techniques
- An introduction to projection mapping and VJing
- Creating live animation with VFX
- Methods for quickly and effectively making your own promos
You will work in MAC’s dedicated media studio, experimenting with cameras, computers, mobile phones and video devices, and use a range of digital and analogue hardware and software to create new work.
This is a practical course taught through demonstrations and guidance from the tutor along with hands on experience. This is not a traditional narrative film course, but a more experimental and abstract programme designed to expand your creative horizons and open up new possibilities with video creation.
On completion of this course, you can expect to have developed an understanding of varied creative video making processes and produced your own video art work.
Who is this course for?
The course is aimed at beginners and improvers aged 18+ years. It is open to beginners with no previous experience as full instruction and guidance is given, and to improvers who are looking to refine or develop their existing skills.

Do you need to bring anything?
Please bring a 32GB USB stick or external hard drive so that you can take your work home. Please bring a mobile phone with a video recording facility.
Are there any additional costs?
All materials are provided. A memory stick must be provided at your own cost.
