Express your personality and learn to draw with tablet computers as you create your own amazing self-portrait!
What will you learn on this course?
Working with iPads and Procreate software, each participant will create a digital self-portrait using a mirror, selfie or favourite photo as inspiration. Working with an experienced digital artist, they will learn to express their personality and style, and how they see themselves.
The course will cover:
- Learning about facial proportions & expressive features
- Tips on how to draw using tablet computers
- Sketching outlines of their face shape, hair, and expression.
- Guides on colour, linework, shading, and drawing hair digitally.
- How to add backgrounds, designs, or patterns
- How to include shadows, highlights and textures to improve the finished piece
On completion of this course you will have learnt new digital drawing techniques, and leave with a finished self-portrait you can print or share online.
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for children aged 11 to 17 years. It is open to all ability levels and does not require any previous experience. We provide a learning support worker and all our staff our DBS checked. Parents are not expected to accompany children on the course.
The course is accessible for children of all abilities, who can participate in practical arts and crafts activities and can use a tablet computer. A parent or companion may attend to assist the child if required; companions must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The room is wheelchair accessible.
Age ranges are set carefully to consider key age developments, materials being used and course stimulus. It is very important that age ranges are not too large or across key stages and therefore need to be adhered to.
