Galantines: Printing, Pizza and Prosecco (ASC143)

Bring a friend or make a new one while exploring textile printing with pinks and reds on the day of love!

What will you learn on this course?

Join for an afternoon of making in our Textile Studio to learn new approaches to design, a variety of print processes and combine stitch with print, to revisit or discover your love of textiles.

This course offers a practical exploration into surface print design through techniques including block printing, screen printing and hand embroidery. The tutor will guide you through the process of creating your own unique designs from primary sources to create printed paper and fabric, which you can embellish with stitch.

Make a number of samples and a small finished piece like a notebook or iPad cover to take home.

The afternoon will finish with a group dinner in our KILN restaurant from 5pm - 7pm to socialise and relax with new friends.

Your meal will include a welcome glass of prosecco followed by:

• An individual stone-baked freshly made pizza of your choice.

With a number of sides to share on the table including:

• Sweet potato fries
• Garlic focaccia
• Dressed side salad

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for adults aged 18+ years working at all levels. You do not need any previous experience of textile making as full instruction and guidance is given. Those with previous textile experience will be able to develop their skills and learn new techniques.

At the heart of MAC is a focus on accessibility and inclusion. Please contact us to discuss your specific access needs. You do need some dexterity in your hands to work with textiles. The room is wheelchair accessible. A personal assistant or companion must book a complimentary ticket if attending to provide support.

Do you need to bring anything?

You don’t need to bring anything. All materials and equipment are provided. You may want to bring your own apron and/or old clothes to put on. There will not be a full lunch break, please eat beforehand.

Are there any additional costs?

The price is for an individual ticket which includes food and drink listed and all materials.
