About Handmade Homewares (ASC909)

Join us for a two-day course for upcyclers, crafters and homeware lovers.

What will you learn on this course?

Inspired by the exhibition Waste Age: What can design do? on display at MAC learn new skills to support a sustainable approach to interior design.

Led by interior stylist and crafting enthusiast Masie you’ll create your own upcycled series of homeware out of second-hand and salvaged items.

You will be working on items such as:

  • Plates and crockery
  • Mirrors
  • Picture frames
  • Vases
  • Small trinkets and decorative items (bric-a-brac)

Learn techniques such as decoupage, metallic leaf gilding and photo transfers, to turn one person’s trash, or your own unloved items, into your very own treasure.

The course will be delivered through a series of demonstrations and opportunities to practice each new technique. Explore the work of artistic design company Fornasetti, as well as other artist to inspire your designs.

You’ll aim to leave with at least two or three finished items to take home and show off!
