About Home Ed (Secondary Age)

Join us for our autumn term of workshops supporting creative learning for home educated children aged 12 - 16 and their families.

Hosted by artist tutor Layla Tutt, these textiles workshops will explore felting and batik techniques in an engaging and creative learning environment. These workshops are also suitable for families following their own learning journey offering open ended creativity.

  • Week 1 | Batik: Participants will explore the wax-resist technique of batik and use traditional tjanting tools to decorate fabric.
  • Week 2 | Wet Felting: Participants will use the process of wet-felting to create a piece of felt material.
  • Week 3 | Needle-Felting: Participants will learn the process of needle-felting to decorate their wet-felted fabric and/or make 3D pieces.

Parents are expected to accompany and support children throughout the workshops.
