Learn a series of basic techniques in the art of wheel throwing including clay preparation to creating mugs, bowls and progress to lidded forms followed by surface decoration and firing your work.

The tutor will encourage you to develop your skills and through repetition, build your confidence. You will be encouraged to be selective about work that is retained for firing so that you deepen your understanding of the art of wheelwork.
Once pieces are complete, you will be introduced to the art of surface decoration with the use of various coloured slips. All completed items will be fired in the kiln.
Please note that your work will need time to dry out and be fired twice in MAC’s kilns. Your work will be ready for collection up to 4 weeks after the date of your last workshop. We will contact you when the work is ready.
