About Kaleidoscope Mosaics (ASC131)
Discover the art of flow, pattern, and colour in this joyful hands-on mosaic experience!
What will you learn on this course?
Step into a world of colour and creativity with our Kaleidoscope Mosaic Workshop, where you'll explore the magic of mosaic making through the lens of vibrant, geometric design. Inspired by the shifting beauty of a kaleidoscope, this workshop is the perfect way to bring bold pattern and energy into your creative life.
Working on a perfectly sized 20x20cm wooden board, specially chosen to ensure you can complete your artwork within the session, you’ll create your own dazzling mosaic using small glass tiles, known as tesserae. With one of two beautiful pre-designed templates to guide you, you’ll gain practical, hands-on experience in how to cut, shape, and place tesserae to achieve a smooth, flowing design.
You'll learn:
• How to use mosaic tools to cut and shape tiles with precision
- Tips for creating movement and harmony in your design through thoughtful tile placement
• The essential skill of grouting, giving your piece a polished and professional finish
Whether you're new to mosaics or looking to build your confidence, this workshop is a wonderful opportunity to explore colour and form in a relaxed, encouraging setting. With expert guidance at every step, you’ll finish the session with a vibrant, handcrafted piece of art-and the joyful sense of achievement that comes from creating something truly unique.
Add a little colour to your day and let your creativity shine, one tile at a time.
Your mosaics need to be grouted and will need 24 hours to dry. Hopefully this will be completed in class but could be finished at home or left in our secure cages to dry and collect at a later date.
