
About Make Your Own Comedy Film (CSC170)
Laugh your way into summer as you create your own comedy short film!
What will you learn on this course?
On this three-day camp, young people will learn about comedy movie storytelling, specialising in mockumentary. Think of iconic funny fake documentaries like The Office, What We Do In The Shadows or This Is Spinal Tap.
Working as a group, participants will take part in writing, acting and filming to create their short comedy film. The course will explore scriptwriting, production and editing using MAC and the surrounding area as a backdrop.
Participants will be sent their film following completion of the course.
This course is delivered by Cassiah Joski-Jethi, an award-winning writer and director for stage and screen.
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for young people aged 12 - 17 years. It is open to all ability levels and does not require any previous experience. We provide a learning support worker and all our staff our DBS checked. Parents are not expected to accompany children on the course.
The course is accessible for children of all abilities, who can participate in practical arts and crafts activities, including using a computer. A parent or companion may attend to assist the child if required; companions must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The room is wheelchair accessible.
Age ranges are set carefully to consider key age developments, materials being used and course stimulus. It is very important that age ranges are not too large or across key stages and therefore need to be adhered to.
Do you need to bring anything?
All course material and equipment are provided. Participants may wish to bring along any props or costume for day two of the course.
Please note that lunch is not provided. Children will need to bring their own lunch to eat on a supervised one-hour break.
