About Printmaking (CSC248)

Embark on an artistic adventure and discover the magic of printmaking!

On this one-day workshop, young artists will explore different printmaking techniques, and learn how a printing press works, to create unique masterpieces.

What will you learn on this course?

Children will learn about two brilliant printmaking processes, one with, and one without a print press.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn all about how a printing press works, and watch their work be printed by the course tutor.

The tutor will introduce a range of techniques including monoprint and collagraph printing, and help participants to use these processes to create their own unique prints!

Participants will work from images, or use their own imagination, to create their own printed masterpieces, and by the end of the day will have made up to 5 unique prints to take home.

Children will leave with new skills and inspiration to continue their artistic journey.

Who is this course for?

This one-day course is suitable for children aged 6 to 11 years old. It is open to all ability levels. We provide a learning support worker and all our staff are DBS checked. Parents are not expected to accompany children on the course.

The course is accessible for children of all abilities who can participate in practical art and craft activities. A parent or carer may assist their child if required but must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The room is wheelchair accessible.

Age ranges are set carefully to consider key age developments, materials being used, and course stimulus. It is very important that age ranges are not too large or across key stages and therefore need to be adhered to.

All course material and equipment are provided. Participants are welcome to bring along their favourite images to inspire their work.

Please note that lunch is not provided. Children will need to bring their own lunch to eat on a supervised one-hour break.
