Learn to create a copper foil rainbow star to hang in a window or around the home.
What will you learn on this course?
On this one-day course you will be taught the traditional skills of stained glass to create a beautiful decorative ornament using the copper foiling technique.
You will learn the skills needed to create a finished piece of stained glass, including glass cutting, grinding, copper foiling and finishing. Create one main piece with the option of adding additional wire embellishments should time allow.
This course is perfect for those who want to try out the art of stained glass in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for adults aged 18+ years. It is open to all levels from beginners to those who have some previous experience working in glass. Full instruction and guidance are given by the tutor who will tailor the class to your needs.
At the heart of MAC is a focus on accessibility and inclusion. Please contact us to discuss your specific access needs. A high level of manual dexterity and tool handling is required. The room is wheelchair accessible. A personal assistant or companion must book a complimentary ticket if attending to provide support.
This course demands dexterity and strength in your hands.
We strongly recommend that you do not attend the course if you are currently pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or breastfeeding. This is due to the toxicity of lead which may be in use in the studio.
Do you need to bring anything?
All equipment and materials are provided.
Students are required to wear flat closed-toe shoes, preferably trainers or boots, as this is a workshop environment with sharp tools, soldering equipment and glass. Unsuitable footwear may result in the student not being able to take part in the session.
Long hair should be tied back. Protective equipment will be provided with the guidance of the tutor.
