About Textile Open Studio: Dye and Print (ASC170 Autumn)

A fantastic opportunity for learners with some textile experience to work on their projects in MAC’s Textile Studio.  

What will you learn on this course?

This is not a taught course but an opportunity for experienced learners to progress with their individual creative journey, supported by an artist tutor in a relaxed social environment. 

Tutor Helen Lane can provide support and direction for a wide range of dying and printing techniques, including:  
•    Block and screen printing
•    Hand and machine embroidery
•    Dyeing techniques using both natural and commercial dyes
•    Quilting and patchwork techniques 
•    Applique and other surface decoration techniques 

These open studio sessions are beneficial to students wishing to develop methods and techniques taught on other courses, as well as those putting together a portfolio, artists wishing to create work for exhibition and learners seeking quality creative time for themselves.

Participants work at their own pace and are encouraged to take breaks throughout the day. 

Who is this course for?

This open studio is suitable for adults 18+ years with some experience of textile working. 

At the heart of MAC is a focus on accessibility and inclusion. Please contact us to discuss your specific access needs. The room is wheelchair accessible. A personal assistant or companion must book a complimentary ticket if attending to provide support. 

Do you need to bring anything?

Please bring projects to work on. Some basic materials are provided and access to MAC’s Textile Studio equipment.
