About Time Travelling Camp (CSC236)

Sculpt your very own all-powerful time travelling character and vehicle and take them through the centuries!

What you will learn on this course

On this three-day course children will start by designing their time travelling character, it’s marvellous vehicle and a model of the land its travelled to. This could be a medieval battlefield to an alien planet five hundred light years away!

Over the three days these designs shall be brought to life with a treasure trove of materials, culminating in imagining and writing a story of how the character came to be and what adventures they have had.

The course is led by professional artist and creature creator Tom Ellis of Curious Oddities. Seamlessly blending story writing with sculpture, children will have the opportunity to let their imagination run free and learn how to make their own art inspired by the fantastical characters and structures made by Tom.

The children will gain new skills in how to design and creating 3D art forms, whilst writing a creative story and learn all about creature characterisation. They will have the opportunity to work with lots of exciting art materials and equipment and gain an understanding of creating artwork through different methods such as drawing, painting and sculpture. This is a fun workshop designed to allow free thinking and imagination.
