Benny Semp
Benny is a Birmingham-based visual artist delivering arts based projects, workshops and residencies with people of all ages and backgrounds. Working in schools, art galleries, community groups and public events Benny uses a wide range of 2D and 3D techniques to provide an accessible and rewarding creative experience for every participant.
Much of Benny's work is based on interesting materials and inspiring ideas, presented in a way that encourages people to respond creatively and have fun regardless of their experience. Benny believes this approach, along with the quality of the artist’s interaction is vital in creating a friendly and supportive atmosphere for all participants.
Recent work highlights have included large-scale projects and ongoing residencies in schools, plus regular workshops for children, families and school visits at many of the region's major arts organisations including MAC Birmingham, BMAG, The CBSO Centre, Barber Institute of Fine Arts, The New Art Gallery Walsall, and Wolverhampton Art Gallery. As well as their freelance work, Benny teaches in secondary schools as an art instructor.
