Lisa Thompson
Lisa holds a Master's degree in Art and has worked in post-16 and adult education for nearly twenty years. Throughout her teaching career, she has led the drawing and painting curriculum from Level 1 through to Level 5, specialising in watercolour and oil painting. Her teaching has explored a wide range of subjects, including still life, natural forms, portraiture, the figure and landscape.
Alongside teaching, Lisa has exhibited her work in galleries across the Midlands and London. She believes that teaching and creative practice are closely connected, with each continually informing and enriching the other.
Beyond drawing and painting, Lisa enjoys sewing, bookbinding and exploring the traditional art of Turkish marbling. She is passionate about helping students develop confidence, technical skills and their own creative voice, whatever their level of experience, and whatever they wish to learn in art.
