As far back as Peter can remember, he always wanted to create images. Peter was educated in Ireland, studied illustration and animation in Wolverhampton, and now lives and works in Birmingham. He is a member of the Birmingham Art Circle.

Peter is compelled to capture a kind of duality in his personal work. He's drawn to the duality of us and nature, but also the duality within ourselves, which seems more prevalent than ever in our rapidly advancing modern world. Graphite and charcoal capture a certain atmospheric quality which he strives for in his pieces. When colour is called upon, the viscous, malleable qualities of oil paint suit his technique best in trying to capture mood, drama, and where possible, an emotive core.

Peter is influenced by many avenues of art, including literature, film, and history, but if he was forced to give specific examples, Peter would say the imagery of Goya, the Vienna Secession, and the principles of the Pre-Raphaelites, hold particular meaning.
