Simran Kaur

Simran is a contemporary artist working across painting, drawing and photography. Her practice explores identities & characterisation in Film & TV, femininity and a particular interest in portraiture. Working predominantly in oils, Simran combines expressive mark-making with careful observation to explore the emotional qualities within media & arts.

Alongside her studio practice, Simran is passionate about arts education and creating accessible, enjoyable spaces for young people to experiment and develop their creativity. Her teaching combines practical art-making with conversations around artists, art movements and contemporary practice, encouraging participants to build confidence and discover their own creative voice.

She holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Kingston University and has exhibited across London, Toronto, Birmingham and Coventry, as well as working within gallery, interior and arts organisations in the UK and Canada.
