Victoria Brown
After studying Art and Design at St Albans College of Art, Victoria then graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 1993, with a BA hons in Metalwork and Jewellery. Following this, Victoria gained a PGCE in Art and Design/Technology at Breton Hall College, in the stunning Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
Victoria initially taught Art at Secondary through to A Level, then moved into FE, HE and then community-based adult learning in 2003. It was at this time, in their own studio practice, that Victoria began to explore working in glass.
Working from their Shirley-based studio, Victoria makes work using traditional stained glass techniques and fused glass. As well as their personal practice, Victoria also works to commission which is often making and restoring traditional Stained Glass windows. Victoria just loves opening up their studio to take part in Open Studio and Art Trail events!
Victoria has been teaching stained and fused glass now for nearly 20 years, from their own studio and in many different community settings.
