
About Upcycle Your Chair Weekender (ASC161)
Join us for a two-day course for upcyclers, crafters and homeware lovers.
What will you learn on this course?
Inspired by the exhibition Michael Pinsky: The Final Bid (open from Sat 25 Jul - Sun 4 Oct), learn new skills to support a sustainable approach to interior design.
Led by interior stylist and crafting enthusiast Masie, you’ll learn how up upcycle a wooden dining chair or stool, turning a pre-loved item into a statement piece.
Learn techniques such as painting, stencil application, gold leafing, decoupage, embellishment and fringing, amongst other skills, to turn one person’s trash, or your own unloved item, into treasure.
The course will be delivered through a series of demonstrations and opportunities to practice each new technique. Explore the work of artistic design company Fornasetti, as well as other artist to inspire your designs.
You’ll aim to leave with a completed chair to take home and show off!
Who is this course for?
This course is for adults aged 18+ years. It is open to all levels. It is suitable for people who are completely new to crafting, and for those who want to extend and refine their techniques.
At the heart of MAC is a focus on accessibility and inclusion. Please contact us to discuss your specific access needs. The room is wheelchair accessible. A personal assistant or companion must book a complimentary ticket if attending to provide support.
Do you need to bring anything?
When booking, the course is offered at two prices-
£98.95- MAC will provide a chair for you to work on
£94.95- You are required to provide your own wooden chair or stool
