About Viva Flamenco! Dance Camp (CSC190)

Step into the rhythm, passion, and power of flamenco!

What will you learn on this course?

In this two-day workshop, participants will discover the exciting world of Spanish dance — from fiery footwork and expressive hand movements to the proud posture and storytelling that make flamenco so unique.

Through fun exercises, games, and short choreographies, participants will:

  • Learn the basics of flamenco rhythm (compás) and movement

  • Explore how to express emotion and confidence through dance

  • Discover traditional flamenco music and culture

  • Create and perform a short group piece by the end of the workshop

No previous dance experience is needed — just enthusiasm, energy, and curiosity! Olé!

After many years of studying Flamenco in Spain, Freddie is excited to bring this dramatic dance practice to MAC!

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for children aged 10 to 15 years old. It is open to all ability levels as full instruction and guidance will be provided by the Tutor. We provide a learning support worker and all our staff are DBS checked. Parents are not expected to accompany children on the course.

The course is accessible for children of all abilities who can participate in a movement class. A parent or carer may assist their child if required but must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The room is wheelchair accessible.

Age ranges are set carefully to consider key age developments, materials being used, and course stimulus. It is very important that age ranges are not too large or across key stages and therefore need to be adhered to.

Do you need to bring anything?

Participants should wear comfortable, closed-toe, hard-soled shoe with good support. A casual trainer or tennis shoe is suitable.

Please note that lunch is not provided. Children will need to bring their own lunch to eat on a supervised one-hour break.
