Bangla Month 2025: Poetry after Chai + Q&A
About Bangla Month 2025: Poetry after Chai + Q&A
Experience an unforgettable evening at Poetry After Chai, an immersive celebration of poetry and storytelling at Midlands Art Centre. This event transforms MAC into a mehfil, an intimate space where spoken word and lyrical performances explore pressing political, social, and cultural themes, inspiring reflection and dialogue. The night promises to ignite your imagination and provoke thought through captivating performances by local and emerging poets, complemented by a Q&A session with lead poet Saida Chowdhury. Don’t miss the opportunity to connect with Saida as she signs copies of her compelling new book, Broken Minds.
Join us for a dynamic event that challenges perspectives and celebrates the transformative power of words.
Exhibition: The Wall - Mrs. By Makbul Chowdhury
Free, drop in | Wed 19 – Thu 27 Nov | Hexagon Foyer
As a part of Bangla Month 2025 we will also be hosting an immersive art installation - a tribute to the unyielding spirit, compassion, and quiet heroism of the women of Birmingham in 1971. It honours the life and legacy of Mrs. Pasha - a woman whose contributions stand in the memory of the British Bangladeshi community.
