Culture Club: 'Matyo' inspired embroidery
About Culture Club: 'Matyo' inspired embroidery
In this meditative workshop inspired by the Hungarian Matyo region and their folklore, you will learn to set up, design and stitch your own piece of embroidery. There will be a selection of patterns for you to use as inspiration for your own piece. Alternatively, you can bring with you a piece of clothing or accessory that you wish to decorate.
It's a simple and repetitive activity that our ancestors used for relaxation and for strengthening their community. Stitching is also used nowadays as a tool for mindfulness and for preserving wellbeing. Come along and try this easy and fun activity or rediscover the power of stitching with our Hungarian tutor, Boglarka Toth.
Tickets are free or pay as you choose.
