About Eco Friendly Phytograms with Tom

10am - 2pm | Terrace Gallery | Free, drop-in

Create detailed images of nature using this ancient camera-less technique. Use eco friendly developer, a plants own chemistry and the sun to capture its image.

Discover the magic of phytograms in this eco-friendly, drop-in workshop. A phytogram is a camera-less photographic process that captures the shape and natural chemistry of plants directly onto light-sensitive paper. Rather than using a camera, leaves, flowers and other botanical materials are arranged on specially prepared paper and exposed to sunlight, creating beautifully detailed images.

Using an eco-friendly plant-based developer, you'll explore how a plant's own natural chemistry can help reveal its image, combining art, science and sustainability in one fascinating process. Watch as the sun and natural materials work together to produce unique botanical prints, with every artwork reflecting the individual characteristics of the plants used.

Suitable for all ages and abilities.
