About Makers Circle

Makers Circle is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to nurturing creativity and building community through textiles and art. They offer inclusive, welcoming spaces where artists, makers, and local communities can come together to learn, share skills, and create collaboratively.

Their mission extends beyond creativity, with a focus on sustainability by encouraging the reuse and upcycling of old and discarded fabrics and materials. Through hands-on workshops and community projects such as Mending Stories and Walk & Stitch, Makers Circle teaches valuable sewing and mending techniques, empowering people to repair, repurpose, and give new life to textiles.

Makers Circle proudly participates in events like Growing Up Green and the Yarningham Festival, showcasing the importance of sustainable practices in both art and everyday life. Their goal is to give back to the community by connecting people, sharing skills, and celebrating the power of art to inspire change.

Whether someone is an experienced maker or new to textiles, Makers Circle invites them to explore, learn, and create sustainably.

This event is organised in connection to Waste Age: What can design do?
