About Bangla Week: Poetry after Chai

A night of poetry, prose and stories.

Presented by Bangladeshi Artist Development Agency (BADA).

Relax with a masala chai and let the rhythm of words immerse you to a night of poetic mehfil draped in tasty fabrics and resham. Leading poets will take the mic and transport you to a night of lyrical encounters inspired by Bangla artists and culture.

Release the power and beauty of words, be that playful, provocative, personal, or pooled, our mehfil is for everyone, every style and narratives. Spoken word artist are invited to an open mic to share their voices through expression and creativity

Explore Our Stories Through Nakshi Kantha - an exhibition celebrating the creativity and artistic skills of South Asian women. The exhibition tells stories of women's journeys from Bangladesh, Pakistan and India to Birmingham, capturing the stories through drama, sketching and Nakshi Kantha embroidery, a centuries old embroidery heritage art form notable to Bangladesh and West Bengal.
