About Simmer Down Festival: 2024 Launch

Celebrating the 60th anniversary of Bob Marley and The Wailers’ iconic track “Simmer Down” one of the UK’s most celebrated reggae and arts events returns.

Join us in MAC's Outdoor Theatre to launch 2024’s line-up with a bite-size evening festival, featuring dynamics acts including Peter Spence, Tenna Star, Megumi and Elle-J Walters.

Peter Spence

A Birmingham-born artist with street credentials to spare, but whose gifts increasingly demand a more international setting. It`s the quality of his songs and material, as well as his peerless vocals that have reaped Peter most acclaim so far.

Tenna Star

They have earned the reputation of being one of the UK’s finest vocalists, working alongside some of the great names within the Reggae music industry.

Megumi

An internationally respected saxophone player who is a regular fixture on the London live music scene, playing in Ska Cubano, the Trojans and the Topcats.

Elle-J Walters

Unlike many of her cohorts she did not grow up in the church, but her vocal prowess is there for all to hear. Elle-J has over 20 years of experience performing, recording and touring both home and abroad.
