About Sari Stories

Every sari has a story, and we’re looking to share yours.

Presented by Midlands Arts Centre and Sampad South Asian Arts and Heritage, Sari Stories is a new exhibition opening in May 2025. As part of this exhibition, we’re showcasing personal reflections on the sari.

We’re inviting people (ages 16+) from Birmingham and the Midlands to share a photograph and the story behind their sari - your story could reflect a special memory or a significant life event tied to wearing the sari. These will be considered for potential inclusion in the community exhibition at MAC - we may also feature a selection of saris and related objects.

Sari Stories is part of Sari Season at MAC, June–Nov 2025.
