About our events

The UK’s biggest festival of Japanese cinema, the Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme, is back for its latest and greatest instalment at MAC!

This year’s programme is subtitled “Am I Right? Justice, Justification and Judgement in Japanese Cinema” and explores how Japanese movies tackle the theme of justice. From serious dramas to comedies, these films explore how people deal with criminal, social, and moral fairness. UK audiences are invited to join us in questioning the concepts of justice, justification, and judgement.
