National Saturday Club and Midlands Arts Centre (MAC) have announced a new and free programme designed to empower the next generation.
Starting in January 2026, local young people aged 13 - 16 can now apply to join the Film and Screen Saturday Club, offering them a unique opportunity to explore their creativity and potential career paths in the Film industry.
At MAC’s new Film and Screen Saturday Club, young people will explore a wide range of filmmaking practices while developing digital media skills. The club will be led by a local filmmaker who will deliver an inspiring programme of creative activities. Participants will gain hands-on practical experience, teamworking skills and the chance to nurture their creativity in a friendly, informal environment. Projects will include creating a digital portrait and group films to be displayed in the Made at MAC Gallery.
Club members can also take part in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition – all for free.
At the heart of MAC is a focus on accessibility and inclusion. We are committed to making our spaces welcoming and accessible. Our building has wheelchair access to all rooms and floors. We are able to provide a range of resources to support access, though cannot provide one-to-one support.
MAC would like to thank players of People’s Postcode Lottery for their invaluable support, which allows us to deliver inspiring programming for young people.
