A Birmingham Ghost Story + Q&A
About A Birmingham Ghost Story + Q&A
The BBC became well known in the 70s for producing popular anthology series Ghost Stories For Christmas, but Birmingham’s Pebble Mill had its own anthology called Centre Play – one which, in 1975, took on the Edgar Allan Poe short story The Imp of the Perverse, adapted for the screen by Andrew Davies.
We’ll be screening it alongside the 2005 BBC ghost story A View From A Hill, with host Jon Dear and screenwriter Peter Harness discussing the process of book-to-TV adaptations, the later having brought the likes of Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell and The War Of The Worlds to the screen.
