About A Thousand And One

A.V. Rockwell’s striking feature debut follows free-spirited Inez (Teyana Taylor), who kidnaps her six-year-old son Terry from the foster care system as they set out to reclaim their sense of home, identity and stability in a rapidly changing New York City.

With a career-defining performance from Taylor as a Black mother fiercely committed to make a future for her child, a Thousand And One is an elegant ode to the terribly beautiful power of family as an anchor in an ever-changing world.

Screening as part of the Bad Mums: Motherhood In Cinema season to accompany the touring exhibition Acts Of Creation: On Art and Motherhood.
