About Birmingham Indian Film Festival 2025: Pyre
Winner of the audience award at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, Pyre is the visually stunning, melancholic ballad of an undying love in a changing land. Set against the backdrop of a remote Himalayan village losing its inhabitants to the city's allure, we follow an ageing couple's battle to maintain their fragile existence.
Centred around two astonishing performances, this film powerfully explores the pain of abandonment, the endurance of hope, and the heartache of unfulfilled promises.
