Two young adults sit together on a wooden parquet floor in front of an ornate white fireplace, reading a letter or document. The male on the left wears a white t-shirt and has long dreadlocks; the female on the right leans on the man's shoulder, wearing a red tank top and denim skirt. The setting appears to be an elegant but bare room with decorative wallpaper.

About Father Mother Sister Brother

Jim Jarmusch’s rewarding multi-narrative chronicle of familial estrangement finds emotionally distant parents and their siblings reuniting in an attempt to reconnect.

A return to the interlinked stories and international panorama format of Night On Earth, Jarmusch’s drama features a series of stories that concern familial relationships marked by emotional detachment. An engaging character study whose connecting motifs subtly reveal themselves, it’s beautifully shot and features a fine cast, including the director’s very own lucky charm Tom Waits.
