About Film Stories presents An Audience With Roger Deakins

Sixteen Oscar nominations. Two Oscar wins. Eleven BAFTA nominations. Five BAFTA wins.

Widely regarded as the greatest cinematographer of all time, Roger Deakins has worked on numerous beloved films, including The Shawshank Redemption, Skyfall, Fargo, Blade Runner 2049, The Big Lebowski, 1917 and No Country for Old Men.

To mark the release of his visual memoir Reflections, Roger and his wife and longtime collaborator James Ellis Deakins visit the Midlands Arts Centre to talk to Film Stories founder Simon Brew about how he overcame a troubled childhood in Torquay to enter his way into art school, how he entered into the world of documentary filmmaking and how his singular film career came about, including longtime collaborations with the Coen Brothers, Sam Mendes and Denis Villeneuve.

Expect clips from some of his finest works as part of this rare chance to hear from one of the greatest visionaries that the craft of cinematography has ever known.

Customers can purchase a voucher to be exchanged for a copy of Reflections on the night of your visit and have the book signed by Roger. The signing will take place after the event in MAC's bar.
