A man is holding what appears to be a bouquet of yellow flowers (possibly daffodils or similar spring flowers with some purple accents). They're wearing a dark jacket over what looks like a graphic t-shirt, and they appear to be smiling while addressing an audience seated in front of the stage. The setting looks like it could be a school auditorium or community center, with golden curtains in the background and wooden paneling visible.

About I Swear

Funny, heartfelt and emphatically moving, I Swear dramatises the true story of Tourette syndrome campaigner John Davidson and his quest to live normally in a world that insisted on calling him different.

Diagnosed aged 15, John’s Tourette’s made him the target of huge misunderstanding in 1980s Britain, and he faced hostility, bullying and occasionally outright violence for much of his youth. Aged 16, he was the subject of BBC TV documentary John’s Not Mad and subsequently became one of the UK’s most passionate advocates for greater awareness and acceptance of Tourette’s, for which work he received an MBE in 2019.

Written and directed by Kirk Jones (Waking Ned, Nanny McPhee) and featuring a deeply committed performance from Robert Aramayo as John alongside supporting turns from Maxine Peake, Shirley Henderson and Peter Mullan, I Swear promises a powerful look at an astonishing life.
