Preview Screening: The Ballad Of Wallis Island + Q&A
EventAbout Preview Screening: The Ballad Of Wallis Island + Q&A
Tim Key, Tom Basden and director James Griffiths visit MAC for a special preview screening of their heartwarming new film The Ballad Of Wallis Island, a feature length continuation of their 2007 short film The One and Only Herb McGwyer Plays Wallis Island that brings a decades long vision to life.
The Ballad Of Wallis Island follows Charles, an eccentric lottery winner who lives alone on a remote island and dreams of reuniting his favorite band, Mortimer-McGwyer (Carey Mulligan and Tom Basden). When he invites them to perform a private show on the idyllic Wallis Island, his fantasy becomes reality.
But there’s a catch: Charles never mentioned to the band that they would be reuniting, and the ‘intimate’ gig he pitched turns out to be an exclusive gig...just for him.
The screening will be followed by a live onstage Q&A with Tim Key, Tom Basden and director James Griffiths.
