About The Most Precious Of Cargoes

An animated drama about a grieving woman discovers an abandoned baby and hopes to raise it with her reluctant woodcutter husband in a time of war.

This moving film, directed by Michel Hazanavicius (The Artist, winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture) and with a screenplay by Jean-Claude Grumberg (author of the 2019 novel of the same name) and Hazanavicius, is about finding hope amongst the atrocities of the Holocaust. The vocal performance by legendary actor Jean-Louis Trintignant (The Conformist) proved to be his final film role. It premiered at Cannes Film Festival and competed for the Palme d'Or.
