The Show About The Show + Caveh Zahedi Q&A
EventAbout The Show About The Show + Caveh Zahedi Q&A
Legendary US documentary filmmaker Caveh Zahedi has spent the last 30 years documenting his life on camera, sometimes to the detriment of his personal relationships. An acknowledged influence on filmmakers such as Richard Linklater, Greta Gerwig and the Safdie brothers, his meta series The Show About the Show - where each episode is about the making of the previous episode - is an epic odyssey that, for better or worse, encapsulates everything Zahedi is dedicated to as a filmmaker.
We are thrilled that the Creative Nonfiction Film Weekend is bringing Caveh Zahedi to MAC this March for a retrospective screening of Season 1 and a post-screening Q&A.
‘[Zahedi’s] body of work at the end of the day will be like a lengthy Walt Whitman poem…it will be one of the greatest poems ever written, because it applies to everybody.’ – Richard Linklater
'The last best hope for American film.' – Ray Carne
'Every topic Caveh touches - sex, drugs, politics - becomes at once infinitely personal and explosively debatable. The films shock, offend and incinerate with wild ease...aside from the myriad of reactions you will have to Caveh and, therefore, yourself, you will also witness the most wild n’ woolly yet controlled/composed filmmaker’s touch' – Lena Dunham
