About Amazing ArtBox Explorers (CSC177)

Create your own Amazing ArtBox inspired by MAC’s summer trail.

What will you learn on this course?

On this one-day course, the children will paint, glue, splatter, and design as they explore the wild, wonderful world of art!

We’ll start the day by looking at our playful ArtBox trail, created by local artists and displayed across MAC. Children will be encouraged to take inspiration from the colours, materials and designs to create their own versions.

They will have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of different artistic materials, learn new creative techniques and develop their existing skills.

The participants will be encouraged to work through many elements of the creative process, such as generating ideas, and designing and making prototypes before producing their finished work.

The course tutor will demonstrate techniques, assists individuals with the development of their ideas, and advises on how to create their final pieces of work.

By the end of the course, each child will have produced their own ArtBox to take home, bursting with colours, shapes, and visual stories.

Who is this course for?

This one-day course is suitable for children aged 6 to 11 years old. It is open to all ability levels and children don’t need previous experience, as full instruction and guidance will be given by the Tutor. We provide a learning support worker and all our staff are DBS checked. Parents are not expected to accompany children on the course.

The course is accessible for children of all abilities who can participate in practical art and craft activities. A parent or carer may assist their child if required but must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The room is wheelchair accessible.

Age ranges are set carefully to consider key age developments, materials being used, and course stimulus. It is very important that age ranges are not too large or across key stages and therefore need to be adhered to.

Do you need to bring anything?

All course material and equipment are provided. Children should dress appropriately as some visual art workshops can get a bit messy.

Please note that lunch is not provided. Children will need to bring their own lunch to eat on a supervised one-hour break.

Are there any additional costs?
