What will you learn on this course?

On this course you will have the opportunity to delve into the compelling aesthetics of the Art Deco style and bring your ideas to life taking inspiration from its bold geometry and themes!

This course will introduce you in the process of slab making, guiding you in creating geometric forms that reflect the distinctive Art Deco style. You will also learn slip decorating techniques, using bright coloured slips, another key element of this iconic period.

We’ll explore the works of notable designers of this era, such as Clarice Cliff, Susie Cooper, and Charlotte Reed, analysing their signature styles and drawing inspiration for our own creations.

Under the guidance of our experienced tutor, you will transform your ideas into beautiful, Art Deco- inspired ceramic pieces. With access to our fully equipped ceramics studio, all pieces you will create will be yours to take home

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for adults aged 18+ years. It is for beginners and improvers/advanced practitioners seeking to develop and build on their skills working with an experienced tutor.
