About Autumnal Digital Collage (ASC135)

Create a nature inspired digital collage on this exciting mixed media course, combining traditional printmaking, photography and digital layering techniques

What will you learn on this course?

On this 1-day course, you will discover the exciting creative possibilities of mixing analogue and digital techniques. Taught by an experienced digital and mixed media artist, you will create layered digital collages inspired by the patterns, textures and shapes of nature.

Beginning with a guided nature walk through nearby Cannon Hill Park, you will collect suitable leaves and plant material for your autumnal collage. You will then use monoprinting techniques to create paper prints, before photographing your designs for further digital manipulation and collaging using supplied cameras.

The course will cover:

  • The creative potential of mixing traditional and modern art techniques
  • An introduction to monoprinting and basic printmaking
  • Tips on photographing analogue work for digital editing
  • How to use the layer function in Photoshop to create rich layered collages

Our fully equipped art studio will give you access to printmaking tools and materials, while our digital media studio includes industry standard digital software. On completion of this course you will have a selection of traditional and digital botanical prints to take home.
