About Ceramics Open Studio Days

Enjoy ceramics at your own pace in one of our Ceramics Open Studio Days. Explore your own projects and ideas in our fully equipped studio with a tutor on hand who can offer help and guidance if needed.

What will you learn on this course?

This one-day open studio is the perfect opportunity to spend a relaxing day being creative, exploring your own ideas and developing projects in our fully equipped ceramics studio.

If you are an existing student at MAC, this is a chance to continue work on your individual project under the supervision of artist tutor Sue Dyer, who will be on hand to offer help and guidance as required.

For less experienced students, you will have the chance to learn some basic techniques like thumb pots, coiling, and slab building, to begin working on a design of your choice. You will also have the opportunity to learn and apply some decorative techniques such as introducing textures and engraved patterns, coloured slip decoration, and glazing.

Our fully equipped studio will give you access to various stoneware clays, pottery wheels, glazes, colour slips, all necessary tools, and firing kilns.
