Design & Make a Tote Bag (CSC194)
About Design & Make a Tote Bag (CSC194)
Create a simple tote bag to take home using basic sewing and crafting techniques.
What will you learn on this course?
Learn basic machine stitching techniques to create your own tote bag complete with printed and handstitched designs.
Participants will unleash their imagination and artistic talents as they design and craft their bag. Their work will involve creative patterns and lots of decorative elements, including beads and embellishments!
Crafting bags involves cutting, gluing, hand sewing, building up textures and embellishment which will enhance fine motor skills and attention to detail. The children will use a variety of textiles, such as calico, felt, ribbons, wool and thread.
Participants will aim to finish the course with a finished bag to take away, created in a fun, relaxed environment with other like-minded children.
Who is this course for?
This one-day course is suitable for children aged 8 to 14 years old. It is open to all ability levels and children don’t need previous experience, as full instruction and guidance will be provided by the Tutor. We provide a learning support worker and all our staff are DBS checked. Parents are not expected to accompany children on the course.
The course is accessible for children of all abilities who can participate in practical art and craft activities. A parent or carer may assist their child if required but must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The room is wheelchair accessible.
Age ranges are set carefully to consider key age developments, materials being used, and course stimulus. It is very important that age ranges are not too large or across key stages and therefore need to be adhered to.
