About Explore Abstract Art (CSC279)

Join us for this two-day course dedicated to the art of abstract painting designed especially for younger artists.

What you will learn on this course?

Leave reality behind as you explore using colour, shape, forms and mark making to create an image very different from reality. Famous abstract painters such as Vasily Kandinsk and Jackson Pollock used big bold colours to create paintings that are fun to look at, and even more fun to try and re-create!

Participants will gain an understanding of-
-    Colour theory
-    Their personal colour palette
-    Colour mixing and relationship
-    Mark making
-    Large scale painting techniques
-    Abstraction techniques

The course will culminate with children creating their own masterpiece by abstracting a chosen subject/reference photo. This course is a great way to get a very different art experience honing in on one specific area of art making.

By the end of the course children will have developed their understanding of painting, learned new techniques and gained confidence with their art making, all within a fun and friendly environment.

Participants will be able to take their paintings home at the end of the course to show off to their family and friends.
