About Improv Improvers (Summer)

Taken an introduction to Improv course? Wondering where to go next? Then this is definitely the course for you!

What will you learn on this course?

A 12-week follow-on course to advance and develop your improv comedy skills.

Suitable for those who have taken an Introduction to Improv course at Midlands Arts Centre or have equivalent experience elsewhere.Over a course of 12 weekly workshops you’ll learn to:

  • hone your short-form game skills
  • understand how to initiate and sustain great improv comedy scenes
  • employ a variety of edit styles and techniques to support fellow players
  • combine scenes into enjoyable longform sets
  • learn a number of longform formats for shows

All while having enormous fun and laughing uproariously!

With the chance to perform in an end-of-term show.

Run by Jon Trevor, founder and leader of Box of Frogs, director of the Birmingham Improv Festival.

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for adults aged 18+ years. It is open to improvers who have attended Introduction to Improv courses previously.

This course may be accessible for people with disabilities. The room is wheelchair accessible. A support worker or carer may assist; carers must book a complimentary ticket if attending to provide support. Please contact us to discuss your specific accessibility needs.
