About Introduction to Finger Style Guitar (ASC63)

Learn the basics of this specialist technique to develop your skills and knowledge on this one-day short course.

What will you learn on this course?

Popular with folk, country and blues musicians, fingerstyle involves plucking individual strings in a chord instead of strumming them.

This course will introduce you to this technique and cover a range of styles:

  • Arpeggio patterns
  • Travis picking
  • Blues picking
  • Dampened base techniques
  • Well known songs that employ these techniques

You’ll develop your skills in a group with other like-minded musicians, with opportunity to play and learn together throughout. You will leave with a taster of this technique and skills to build on in the future.
