CoursesAbout Introduction to Poetry and Poetic Writing (ASC60)
This day course provides an opportunity to expand your writing techniques and consider poetry in its widest form.
What will you learn on this course?
This day course will bring some fun into creative writing and provide an opportunity to expand your writing techniques and consider poetry in its widest form. In addition, we'll take a look at other forms of poetry in prose and song lyrics.
The tutor will help you build confidence, find enjoyment in poetry and encourage you to embrace the writing process.
During the course, you will:
- Examine both new and old poetry, song lyrics and poetic writing
- Produce poetic writing by learning some poetic techniques
- Consider published poems/songs/poetic writing to gain a greater freedom in writing your own work
- Learn to edit and develop own work by looking at published and non-published work
By the end of the day, participants will have the confidence to write in their own style, but with added ‘tools’ from the class to extend and continue.
