About Make A Talking Puppet Camp (CSC179)

Learn to make puppets with a toy voice box to create your own puppet show!

What will you learn on this course?

In this 3-day workshop, children will design and create their very own Talking Puppets! Participants will develop their own unique hand puppet characters using a variety of fun, colourful materials – including foam, fabric, wool, buttons, and embellishments. They will be guided through each step of the making process, from sketching puppet ideas and choosing materials, to cutting and assembling their creations using basic crafting techniques.

Once the puppets are made, each child will personalise their puppet with a small sound recorder, allowing them to record and playback a voice or sound of their choice. Whether it’s a silly catchphrase, a secret message, or the beginning of a mini puppet show, children will get to explore voice and character through simple storytelling exercises.

This workshop will allow participants to explore their creativity and let their imaginations run wild as they create new worlds through the art of puppetry.

The children will be able to take home anything that they have made during the course.

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for children aged 8 to 14 years. It is open to all ability levels and does not require any previous experience. We provide a learning support worker and all our staff are DBS checked. Parents are not expected to accompany children on the course.
