About Make a Wet Felted Picture (ASC99)

Spend the day learning the ancient craft of felt making to create a decorative artwork.

What will you learn on this course?

This workshop will enable you to learn or revise a variety of felting techniques.

During the session you will learn how to handle lengths of unspun wool and lay them correctly for felting. There will be an opportunity to identify various different fibres and explore their properties during the class too.

You will also be able to add in various other fibres to create texture and further effects within the felt. Learn the best techniques for agitation of the fibres so that when you apply soap and water they will bond to form a strong piece of fabric.

Penny is a textile artist with over 18 years of felt making experience and also has a drawing and painting background, so will work with you to create a picture or abstract piece that you will rinse and take home with you.
