About Playing With Yourself: Solo Improv Workshop (ASC156)

Join us for a fun workshop designed to support performers in building confidence improvising on their own. Led by improv veteran David Elms, the session explores the mindset and practical tools needed to approach solo improvisation with greater ease and assurance.

What will you learn on this course?

Participants will explore:
•    Techniques for improvising without a scene partner
•    Practical ways to generate and sustain ideas when working solo
•    Approaches to managing nerves and performance anxiety
•    Using structure, focus and attention to support solo play
•    Developing confidence to continue practising independently

The workshop will be taught through guided exercises and practical explorations in a supportive environment, with opportunities for reflection and discussion.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have a clearer understanding of how to approach solo improvisation and a set of practical ideas they can continue to use outside of the session.
